Ayatollah Khamenei added that the republic side also means that the officials should accompany people and live like them. "They should avoid dictatorship, gentility and indifference towards people," he added.

In the same regard, Ayatollah Khamenei advised the officials to respect people's values, reputation, personality and identity.

Over the Islamic side of the system, the IR Leader underlined that the system was relying on religion and spirituality and that different aspects of the republic side of the system were supported by the Islamic and spiritual side of the system, adding that any move to promote the system would be granted a divine award.

Ayatollah Khamenei termed the Islamic Republic as a unique example of the early Islamic ear government adding that the enmity of dictators against the system was natural and that the results of their 30-year enmity were the wonderful progress of the great Iranian nation.

In another part of his address to the people, the IR Leader said forest and sea are two great assets of the nation and that the government should utilize the assets to eradicate poverty in the area.

The IRI Leader also warned against separation of religion from politics.

The Leader said that politics mixed with ethics and spirituality will serve as a means for human perfection, otherwise, it will be a way for supremacy, accumulation of wealth and materialization of worldly private objectives at any cost - something harmful both for the policymakers and the people.
Addressing the political wings and figures and the country's former and current officials at the beginning of the second Friday prayers sermon, Ayatollah Khamenei discussed the embranchments that appeared in the original trend of people and revolution during the past 30 years.
He regarded the reason for some of these embranchments as disagreement in principles and beliefs, adding: "Some embranchments and disagreements were actually because of interests, but some others were disagreement on how to materialize the principles, and each should be dealt with differently."

Referring to the revolutionary and religious history of the branching trends, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The nature of some of these disagreements was disagreement in the methods of materializing the principles, but some people with fundamental disagreements or fighting on interests confronted and opposed Imam and the Revolution and tried to inject these wrong principles like a fatal poison in the system's soul and body, but Imam when perceived this threat, put lenience aside and confronted them decisively."
"Differences of views should not lead to conflicts. The policy of the Islamic system is to work with the majority. But if the opposition groups have ideas that are against the nation's security and the principles of the system, they will be confronted," IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that offering different ideas with different taste will be in favor of the country adding that different tastes should be in accordance with Islam, the Constitution, and guidelines of the late Imam Khomeini.
"Those who clash with the system and turn their backs on the Islamic establishment become enemies," said Ayatollah Khamenei.
"Of course, if someone has a different opinion but leaves the system to itself, then the system has nothing against him or her."
"The system has to deal with those who threaten security, under the guise of seeking the revolution's principles. The revolutionary principles are not a matter of taste," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
The IR Leader noted that even figures with revolutionary backgrounds must not let their differences of opinion lead to conflict and warned political movements against trying to undermine the pillars of the Islamic Revolution.
Ayatollah Khamenei went on to urge piety, advising the people and the country's top figures to avoid corruption as it can alter their hearts and turn them against the system.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the establishment must retain its Islamic qualities, and not turn into a fake Islamic Republic that is secular at heart.
"Positive movements are those that push the country toward growth, justice and religious values while negative ones are those that try to create economic gaps, spread impiety and give into foreign pressure," IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemy will become bolder if Iran retreats from its various rights, including the nuclear stance.
The IR Leader also said that the Islamic Republic is proud to have the Zionist regime as an enemy, while faithful and oppressed nations are IRI's friends.

But people have confidence in the system and the Islamic system has also confidence in people," the IR Leader said.
"You will see that these people will have powerful presence in the future elections despite the enemy and ignorant persons' plots," said Ayatollah Khamenei.
Pointing to enmity of world arrogant powers including America, Britain and Zionists to Iran, the IR Leader said that the enmity reveals the right path of the Islamic Republic.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the country and its bright future will belong to the youth. They should be vigilant and make their utmost efforts because scientific, political and economic strength of the country would bring glory to the all nation especially the youth.
At the end of the second sermon, Ayatollah Khemeni cautioned people to be vigilant against some moves which try to weaken the mottos of the late Imam and the Revolution.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with the 10th cabinet, urged them to adopt their predecessors' approach to issues such as social justice, fight against corruption, humble life styles, sustained effort to solve people's problems, and noting the deprived areas of the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei also termed the Iran-in-1400 Document as the yard stick for all government activities. Ayatollah Khamenei asked for deliberate and thoughtful implementation of the document in complete accordance with law, while consulting elites, scholars, and religious leaders.
The IR Leader lauded the establishment of the 10th government, saying that 85% enthusiastic and unforgettable presence of the people at Khordad 22nd election polls was proof for free will and responsibility of the nation in choosing their country's officials.
"Everyone should thank the
Almighty God for this blessing towards the system and the revolution," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out the necessity of true comprehension of the real message of the 40-m presence of the people and electing a president with the new high record of 25 million votes. "If the country's officials and political experts and elites realize these messages many of the conflicts and problems would be solved," the IR Leader noted.

"Under the current situation a huge amount of high quality work need to be done that by favor of God the tireless and energetic president moves in the same direction," he urged.
The leader of the Islamic Revolution then provided the statesmen with ten advices, including, having strong faith in God and strengthening spirits, which he said are the most important factors that can assist them conquer the entire problems and difficulties.
Ayatollah Khamenei advised the 10th government to be ready for encountering all kinds of ill wishing and conspiracies, adding, "Lots of efforts would be made against this government and this system, but the capabilities, hopes and opportunities of the government and the nation are greater than the entire plots and problems ahead."
The leader of the Islamic Revolution asked for the continuation of the former government's efforts on the establishment of justice, campaign against corruption, supporting the weak social classes, observing a modest life style, paying due attention to the deprived parts of the country and spending a never ending effort aimed at solving the people's problems.
"Continuing such efforts would please both God and the nation," he noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the need for presenting a precise definition for justice, reiterating, "Justice must be observed in every deed and behavior, and even in making judgments and adopting stands."
In justice seeking efforts he advised observing wisdom and spirituality as necessities, adding, "Some extremist moves of some groups in the past have led to their 180 degree change of stands, because justice seeking was not accompanied relying on rationalism."
The IR Leader's third suggestion to the 10th government was paying full attention to implementation of the 20 Year Perspective Document.
"The significance of the Vision Document is in a way next to the Constitution, the country's most important document, and therefore, the government's entire efforts and orientations need to be evaluated with the index of the Perspective Document," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
He noted that with four years past the implementation of the Vision Document "We should be proceeding towards the bright future predicted in this important document and the 10th government should while settling the pace of implementing the projects, try to gain its own share of materializing this document."
Full implementation of the policies of Article 44 was the other suggestion of the IR Leader to the president and his new cabinet.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the work done in that respect thus far has been insufficient, adding, "We need not wait for major reforms in infrastructure apparatus and the ratification of the Economic Overhaul Plan."
Ayatollah Khamenei asked the 10th government members to refrain from hastiness in devising economic projects and to take appropriate advantage of experts' viewpoints.
The IR Leader also advised the president and his cabinet to pay full attention to proper choice of goals in cultural fields.
"The officials are obliged to take care of the people side by side and guide them, and therefore, the potentials and possibilities of the state organs such as the Islamic
Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the Education Ministry, and the Higher Education system should be utilized in a way to increase the people's love for religion," the IR Leader urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei also advised the president and his colleagues at the government to take full advantage of the advice by the sources of jurisprudence, Alims, and the great religious personalities.
He also encouraged welcoming the criticism made by the academic elites, that would further strengthen the relations and serve as a backing for the government.
Planning and devising an Islamic-Iranian pattern for progress and taking advantage of the elites in order to complete that pattern were the IR Leader’s final recommendation to the government.
“Move in a way that your four year opportunity would provide strong pillars for the future officials and by favor of God you would launch a stronger movement than the 9th government,” Ayatollah Khamenei urged.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei underlined the repeated America failures in different countries and the loss of its influence both indicate the undeniable fact of world change.
"America had far greater failures in the Islamic Republic of Iran than in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday.
The IR Leader touched upon changing the situation in Latin America and said, "A power has been formed in this region which was once regarded by America as its courtyard."
"Iran and Venezuela should make efforts to prepare the grounds for strengthening their independence," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
"Along with political coordination, Iran and Venezuela should enhance industrial, economic, banking and transportation cooperation," the IR Leader added.
Chavez for his part hailed positive talks between the high-ranking Venezuelan delegation and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other senior Iranian officials.
The Venezuelan president said that enhanced cooperation and unity between the two countries would be the only way to fight against enemy plots.
President Chavez also said that the two countries formed a general meeting to establish a joint bank to enhance economic cooperation.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was also present in the meeting.

The leader of Islamic Revolution referred to post-revolution (1979) poetry as a continuous movement towards new heights in poetry and said, "The poetry of revolution has successfully passed the exams and should continue this way till it achieves all the goals of the revolution."

"The goals of our revolution are like bright stars, high in the sky. They show us where to fly," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

"This poetry should serve the goals of the revolution. Justice; morality; independence, particularly cultural independence, and revivification of our Iranian-Islamic identity are some of these goals," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also touched on the incidents before and after the presidential elections in June and said these incidents were a blessing and like a war game revealed our weaknesses.

"The burden of retelling the truth about these incidents lies on the shoulders of men of letters and artists. It is their duty to distinguish friend from foe," the IR Leader urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that wisdom is a necessity in understanding the situation. "Men of letters form only a portion of Islamic Revolution's movement. They ought to talk or write their take of the truth in a way that is intelligible to everyone and avoid political vagueness."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to soft warfare as a reality and pointing to his previous warnings about the issue, he said, "When one sees the formation of clenching teeth against the Late Imam Khomeini, the Revolution and its cause he will definitely believe in the soft warfare.

"It is the duty of the cultural association to appropriately employ art against the soft warfare," the IR Leader urged.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with a group of academics, university professors and scientific elites in Tehran on Sunday stressed the important role of university professors in scientific development of the country.
The IR Leader added scientific development would be one of the major pillars of development and implementation of justice in the next decade in the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that holding yearly meetings with academics and scientific elites is a symbolic move to show the Islamic Republic of Iran's special attention to science and scientists.

Stressing the necessity for paying more attention to research, the IR Leader said the researches should be held in line of the country's needs, adding reflecting the researches in the international communities is a necessary but the publication of them in the world communities should not be a criterion for the country's scientific development.

Given to a comprehensive scientific map of the country, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his dissatisfaction over unfinished efforts to this end.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the necessity for quick presentation of the map, adding the current plans in different scientific fields is not in agreement with the country's needs and the problem could be solved by the map.

Criticizing the growing number of students in the course of human sciences in the country, the IR Leader said the capacity of scientific centers and universities in the field as well as the number of faithful professors teaching the field is not as much as the number of students.
The Leader said most human fields are based on philosophies that believe in materialism and they lack of belief to Islamic and divine teachings, warning that teaching them would lead to promotion of unbelief to the divine teachings and promotion of skepticism to the religious principles.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the government, Majlis and Supreme Cultural Revolution Council should pay serious attention to the issue.
The IR Leader advised that the existing organizations should be strengthened instead of increasing establishments in some parts relating to scientific fields.

The IR Leader also called for using learned, revolutionary, brave and ingenious people in the Science Ministry and other scientific centers.
Ayatollah Khamenei also put emphasis on the necessity for further relations of the Science Ministry and the Supreme Cultural Revolution Council with the scientific elites and using their views.

Ayatollah Khamenei added supporting the academics has always been one of the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and it is expected that the academics should feel responsibility for the university students, scientific future of the country and improving the education system and strengthen their presence in the university.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged for promotion of spirituality in universities and said if we trained faithful students at universities, they would hit by less damages.

Islamic Revolution Leader highlighted high capabilities of the country which helped it 'overcome' the post-election problems.

"The recent post-election issues have placed the country in front of a determining political test. However, the system of the Islamic Republic given its high capabilities was able to overcome the situation," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The IR Leader said that IRI enjoys 'different kinds of freedom' within the Islamic framework.

"Freedom in the Islamic system is a true issue defined within an Islamic framework and the Islamic Republic will never consent to or accept the false freedom sought by the West," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The IR Leader touched upon the responsibilities of different walks of the country in confronting incidents including post-vote events, saying, "What is expected of university professors in this struggle is far greater than that of students."

"Students are the young officers fighting on this front who with their thoughts, actions and perceptions are present in the scene and who test the scene and act within its framework but university professors are the commanders of this soft confrontation."

Ayatollah Khamenei urged the commanders of this front to obtain a good understanding of the current situation and to identify the enemy, its objectives and plans.

"A professor who can play this role is a worthy teacher for the present and future of the Islamic Republic," the IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei described raising students' abilities to analyze, and creating an atmosphere of hope and scientific work in universities as being the most important responsibilities of university professors.

"We must move in the exact opposite direction of the enemy's objectives, as it seeks to create the atmosphere of desperation in universities," the IR Leader said.

The IR Leader also highlighted the importance of preparing the grounds for students to express their views in different fields.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the damage inflicted on people in the post-vote incidents and said, "All those who have been the victims of the post-election events must know that the Islamic system has no intention of making concessions."

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with participants in the 26th round of international Koranic contests said following Koran would lead to glory, dignity and unity of the Islamic Ummah, adding that recent days' political developments should not turn into an issue of discord and all should cooperate for the progress of the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Koranic meetings would help Muslims to have a close connection with Koran. He advised people to have connection with Koran not only through ear and eye but also through heart.

Pointing to Divine promises for the faithful, Ayatollah Khamenei said if we follow the Koran instructions, the divine promises would be achieved adding that today the Islamic world is thirsty for Koran's teachings.

The IR Leader referred to enemies' efforts to endanger Islamic unity and said "the enemies of Islam cheatingly claim that they are not against Koran however we see they oppose Koran's teachings."

Ayatollah Khamenei lauded the existing unity among the Iranian nation and said unity is to move towards principles while it is possible to have some differences in secondary issues which could never block unity.

Ayatollah Khamenei recommended the political circles in the country to be careful in their remarks and avoid making rifts, adding that total dismissal of others over second issues of minor importance is not in the interests of the country and that all political figures must join hands in developing the country.

Referring to ethical cultivation as the second part of the Be'tha message, the IR Leader said: "The spread of ethical virtues in society is like pleasant air that paves the way for a healthy life and prevents the human being from greed, ignorance, personal hatred and suspicion against others and it is because of this reason that in Islam, purification and ethical cultivation precedes education."

The IR Leader regarded the current dignity of the Iranian nation as the result of prosperity and success in the difficult tests of the past 30 years, stressing: "The Almighty God has rewarded the Iranian people with very great achievements for these successes, and today as well, every one of people is moving and making effort toward Islam's exalted goals, and the result of that is the feeling of dignity and identity by the Iranian people."

"This issue that the world's arrogant powers has put confronting the Islamic Republic of Iran as their motto and regard the Islamic system as an obstacle to reaching their inauspicious goals especially in the Middle East region, shows the greatness of Iran's people, system and government," he added.

The IR Leader considered these achievements as the result of the Iranian people's movement in the arena of the orders of religion, reminding the role of the elites and the officials as examples for people.

"The Iranian people showed in the past 30 years that they are a loyal and forgiving nation and in the recent issues and incidents after the presidential elections too, this characteristic of the Iranian people appeared once again," said Ayatollah Khamenei.

"Among the Iranian people, there are different tastes in the arena of social life, but where people feel that there is the issue of enmity with the system and a hand is managing a movement to harm it, they keep distant from that movement even if it uses the same motto that people believe in," the Leader added.

He regarded the recent incidents as another important experience and lesson for the Iranian people beside the experiences of previous years, stressing: "These incidents bore this experience and lesson that even when a great move is being conducted in complete peace and stability, the enemies' plot and conspiracy should not be ignored."

"While everybody admitted that the recent elections with 40-million-people turn-out was a unique glory since the beginning of the Revolution and showed the system's power in bringing people to the scene after the passage of 30 years, however, everybody noticed that in such conditions too, the enemies' ambush and planning to harm the nation should not be ignored," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Referring to the claim made by the enemies of the Iranian people that they did not interfere in the country's internal affairs, the IR Leader added: "While the enemies' interference especially the role of their media is completely apparent, this claim shows their shamelessness."

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to his warning against intelligence and propaganda role of arrogant media to block independence of nations and said, "The enemies of the Iranian people, via their media, are giving instructions to the troublemakers to cause disorder, destruction and violence, while at the same insisting they are not interfering in Iranian internal affairs."

The IR Leader urged all to distinguish between rioters and the people and said the arrogant media name the rioters as people to support them while the people are those who express their hate for the rioters' moves.

Pointing to long-term goals of the Iranian nation, the IR Leader said salvation in this world and the Hereafter would be achieved through peace and security. "Depriving the people from security and peace is a great sin."

"Anyone, no matter their rank or title, will be detested by the people if they lead our society towards insecurity," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"Our elites should be vigilant. Any word or action which helps the enemies will be contrary to the interests of our people," the IR Leader said.

The IR Leader added that all should take care with their words and statements.

"The elites should be vigilant because they involve in a great test and not being successful in this test would lead to collapse," Atollah Khamenei said, adding the sole way for getting rid of such fate is following wisdom.

"Wisdom is not political manipulation because it is against wisdom and those who term political manipulation as wisdom and rationality are wrong," the IR Leader said.

Speaking at the gathering, he said that western countries will have to pay for the consequences of interfering in Iran's internal affairs.

His Eminence referred to the role of Islam and the Islamic Revolution in the unity of the Iranian nation and stressed the need for preserving unity in the country. He further added: "The June 12 election, with its unprecedented voter turnout of 85 percent, showed that after the passage of 30 years the Islamic Revolution is capable of attracting an enormous number of people to the ballot boxes. That was why the enemies started to foment discord among the people, and they were partially successful. But the nation must foil their plots."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution touched on the electoral laws of the Islamic Republic and said that according to these laws "the campaigning of the presidential candidates is a competition within the family". He added that the competition may sometimes result in anger, but that it does not concern foreigners.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the enemies seek to create a rift by their interference in Iran's internal affairs. "Some of the leaders of western countries explicitly interfered in the internal affairs of the Iranian nation which had nothing to do with them. And then they said they were not interfering in Iran's affairs despite the fact that they persuaded people to engage in vandalism and labeled the Iranian people as rioters."

He noted that rioters are the limited number of people who use the budget approved by some western countries, further adding: "It is natural for the people whose candidates did not win the election to feel sad and depressed. And this does not mean vandalism because there is a majority and a minority in the country based on the result of the election. And there are rules. Therefore, labeling the Iranian nation as rioters in American and European media, which are dominated by the Zionists, is an insult to the nation."

The Supreme Leader strongly warned the heads of some western governments and stressed: "These governments must watch their hostile statements and behavior because the Iranian nation will react. We will assess the interventionist statements and behavior of these governments, which will definitely have a negative impact on the Islamic Republic's relations with them in the future."

His Eminence described the Iranian nation as powerful and said that the Islamic Republic is a firmly established government. "Even if the officials of the Islamic Republic have some disagreements, they are unified against the enemy and unanimous in preserving the independence of the country. The enemy must know that it will not succeed in creating a schism in the Iranian nation."

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the Iranian nation will form a unified front despite their differing tendencies when it comes to dealing with the enemies.

The Supreme Leader referred to the followers of the hostile propaganda machines and added: "These followers must know that the enemies and the ferocious wolves will use them only to further their interests, and then they will dispose of them like a tissue."

Ayatollah Khamenei reminded the audience of the importance of preserving vigilance and distinguishing enemies from friends, further reiterating: "The few followers who have been deceived send out false signals, which have misguided even the enemies. But the people, elites, and all political parties must take care not to confuse friends with enemies and to treat enemies and friends differently."

He stressed the need for distinguishing rioters from other people and added: "According to its duties, the Islamic Republic will crack down on the individuals who disturb public life and peace and who threaten the youth. But enemies must never be confused with friends, and friends must not be considered enemies because of a single mistake."

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "Any seditious plot will be foiled by a nation that is vigilant. And by Allah's favor, the recent seditious acts on which the enemy had pinned its hopes are over now."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said the essence of things is what remains after the dust settles. "The noble and timeless reality is the impressive election with the presence of almost 40 million voters who expressed their trust in the Islamic Republic after the passage of 30 years."

Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the high position of Imam Ali (a.s.) and said that his lifestyle contains many messages for the prosperity and perfection of the Islamic Ummah. "One of the lessons that Imam Ali's lifestyle holds for us is his spirit to administer justice and preserve unity in the Islamic society. He made many selfless efforts and tolerated many hardships in this process. In some cases, he even gave up his rights for the sake of the interests of Islam," he stated.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the exceptional and epic turnout in the June 12 elections was a great show of trust and hope on the part of nation, a political earthquake for enemies and a historical celebration for friends of Iran and the Revolution.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned that the enemies of Islam seek to instill doubt into elections and shake the national trust. "They seek to question the legitimacy of the system through erosion of participation. If they manage to gain the goal, the incurred loss is larger than any other losses," Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the intense electoral campaigns between the four candidates, including the TV debates, were something within the system though the Zionist-ruled media with shear lies tried to present them as fight between opponents and proponents of the system.

Ayatollah Khamenei then noted that difference of opinion was natural, adding however that he considered a certain platform more appropriate for the country though he never made his vote public because the elections belonged to all people and its results would be determined by people.

Ayatollah Khamenei described the presidential TV debates as a significant initiative, saying that the serious and transparent debates foiled the plot of the aliens who claimed the polls were a show.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the debates were positive in that the debating sides had to defend their own platforms in the face of a flood of criticism, adding that the people through the debates and other special TV programs could judge their vote and felt that the Islamic establishment considers them as insiders.

Ayatollah Khamenei then said that one of the factors behind a ten million rise in the regular size of turnouts in the elections was the debates which helped people engage in the election campaigns.

The IR Leader then called for the continuation of the TV debates at levels of country's managers, adding however that there were also some negative issues in the debates which must be removed in future similar programs.

Regarding the negative issues, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the debates contributed to more political schism and rumors and was lagging in logical issues. "Unfortunately the debates were defamatory at some points so that they relegated to blackening of the services of the current administration or previous administrations and stirred the situation among the supporters of the candidates," the IR Leader regretted.

Ayatollah Khamenei then pointed to some defamatory statements in the debates about Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani and Mr. Nateq Nouri, adding that while no one points an accusatory finger at the two personalities, any other claims about the relatives of the two must not be made public before due legal proceedings are covered.

Ayatollah Khamenei then pointed to his fifty-year-old relationship with Mr. Hashemi and elaborated on his services to the Revolution and the System, adding that Mr. Hashemi has never collected any money out of the Revolution.

Ayatollah Khamenei however noted that he has some natural difference of opinion with Mr. Rafsanjani, adding that the differences also existed between Mr. Rafsanjani and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad since 2005, noting however that Mr. Ahmadinejad's platform was closer to his.

Ayatollah Khamenei then considered Mr. Nateq Nouri as a personality who has always been in service of the Revolution.

Ayatollah Khamenei then reaffirmed the serious stance of the system against financial corruption, adding however that the Islamic System despite the claims of some Zionist bodies is among the healthiest establishments in the world.

Ayatollah Khamenei then turned to the June 12 elections and said the enemies try to cast doubt on the elections and turn an absolute victory into a national loss however the highest rate of turnout has already been registered for the Iranian nation and the reality would never change.

Ayatollah Khamenei then ruled out any vote rigging in the elections, saying that it is not in the nature of the Islamic System to betray the vote of people and that the electoral procedures of the Islamic System never allow any major fraud.

Ayatollah Khamenei added however that the Constitutional Guardian Council had been instructed to consider any evidence of fraud provided by the complaining candidates and recount those boxes which are deemed necessary in the presence of their delegates.

Ayatollah Khamenei said legal routes are sole way for the consideration of electoral complaints, adding that he would never accept any illegal precedence because if today the legal framework is breached, no other elections would be trustworthy in future.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the legal procedures for consideration of electoral complaints are fine and complete, adding that all electoral issues should be tackled through legal routes.

Ayatollah Khamenei then addressed politicians and party leaders, saying that the country was experiencing a sensitive juncture and that considering the situation of the world, everyone has a duty to keep vigilance and avoid any mistake.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned that any extremism would stir further extremism, adding if political elites violate the law, they are to blame for any ensuing violence or unrest.

"I recommend all my old friends and brothers to overcome their sentiments and view the hidden hands of enemies and hungry wolves which gradually shed their mask of diplomacy," the IR Leader urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the ballot box is the point where all differences must be settled and that the street is not a point to determine the vote of people.

Ayatollah Khamenei also warned that street protests are an appropriate cover for terrorists, enquiring who may take responsibility if terrorists carry out acts of terror within such meetings.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that political weighing in the streets actually challenges the very democracy and elections. He then urged all parties involved to end the wrong political method, adding that if they fail to end the street protests, the responsibility of consequences falls on the organizers and parties involved.

Ayatollah Khamenei also noted that street protest never work as a pressure tool on the System and would fail to to make it to give in to their demands as expediency "because caving in to illegal demands under pressure would usher in dictatorship."

"These calculations and perceptions are wrong and the behind-the-scene commanders are to blame for any consequences. The people will know those commanders when due," the IR Leader cautioned.

Ayatollah Khamenei then urged the parties involved to take the path of fraternity and understanding and appreciate the 40m vote celebration by not allowing the enemy to ruin the large celebration. He however warned that if some people want to go a way otherwise he will come back and speak to people, this time in a more straightforward manner.

Ayatollah Khamenei then raised a series of stances taken by the authorities of some European countries as well as the United States, saying that in the run-up to the elections, the western authorities and media tried to trigger a voter apathy nevertheless they were shocked by a 40m turnout which made them to realize that a new chapter has opened in the issues related to the Islamic Republic of Iran which must be inevitably accepted by them.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the situation made the enemies to feel greedy so that they thought they could spark a velvet revolution in Iran as they did in some small countries with a few million dollars paid by a Zionist capitalist. "The main problem is that the ignorant enemies have yet to know the Iranian nation," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"The ugliest issue was the expression of sympathy by American authorities for human rights and their claim of tightening of situation against Iranian people. How those who committed such and such crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq and support the bully Zionist regime allow themselves to profess to cherish human rights?" Ayatollah Khamenei asked.

Ayatollah Khamenei in the same regard reminded the conduct of the Democrat administration of Clinton in the massacre of more than 80 people of the Davidian sect. "You burned more than 80 women, men and children alive. So how could you understand human rights?" he asked.

Ayatollah Khamenei then noted that the Islamic Republic has hoisted the flag of human rights and defense of the oppressed and that it has no need to take advice from the West in this regard. "Western authorities must take shame and abandon their current policies" towards Iran, he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded the speech by making an address to the Last Shii Imam, Hazrat Mahdi, saying "we have done what needed and said what needed and will do. We would stay the course powerfully. You are the true owner of the Revolution and Country. Please, pray for us."

On the eve of the auspicious birth anniversary of the savior of mankind, Vali-Allah A'zam, may God hasten his reappearance Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei praised the large turnout of the Iranian nation in the epic of the June 12 elections and endorsed the vote to president-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

In his endorsement decree, Ayatollah Khamenei described the vote as a vote to the blessed and dignified discourse of Islamic Revolution and a vote to combat against poverty, corruption and discrimination.

These are due to the blessing and favor of the all-knowing and all-powerful God Whom must be cherished by this meager servant as well as all remembering and modest hearts and to Whom we must rub our forehead of gratitude.

Ayatollah Khamenei then made a speech, calling religious democracy a unique and thought-provoking phenomenon which can cater to the current needs of the human community.

Ayatollah Khamenei reminded the non-presence of people in political fields during the Pahlavi regime and the ironical cooperation of the so-called advocates of human rights with the regime, adding that under the auspicious of the nation's revolution and submission to the divine statute, a single reality was formed called Islamic Republic.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the discussion on which of republic or Islamic must be prioritized as a meaningless topic, adding that the two are two inseparable elements as reliance on public vote lies in the heart of divine statute.

Some waited for the system in the early post-revolutionary years to fall from the public attention however the recent elections which broke international electoral records showed that the Islamic System after 30 years even has become more powerful and successful in attracting public trust.

The IR Leader said the second lesson of the elections was the existence of a mutual trust between the system and the public, adding that the open political field for different affiliations shows the trust of the system in itself and the nation.

"The people for their part trusted the system and proved their interest in their elected system. The reality shows that those who speak of a public mistrust are ignorant, unless ill-wisher," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the trust of people was the capital of the system and seriously urged all authorities to progressively promote the trust by their word and deed.

Ayatollah Khamenei as a third lesson of the elections pointed to an existence of hope and vivacity in people.

"A hopeless heart never takes the field of elections. The vivacious presence of the youths and other strata shows a social hope in the prospects," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded his remarks by pointing to ample natural, material and human resources within the dear Iran, saying that there are many problems which must be resolved with continuous efforts of the president and his colleagues as well as the help of elites with different tastes, even the critics of the administration.

In the Name of God the Beneficent the Merciful

Once again the Land of Revelation has gathered legions of true-believers for its annual banquet. In the birthplace of Islam and the Holy Qur’an, eager hearts from throughout the world are now engaged in such rites which indeed show a sign of the eternal lesson of Islam and the Holy Qur’an to mankind: symbolic steps for implementing and applying such a lesson.

The aim of this great lesson is to ensure the eternal salvation and dignity of mankind by training righteous people and establishing a righteous society; people who worship the One and Only God in their hearts and in practice and cleanse themselves from polytheism, moral impurities and deviant desires, and a society built out of justice, freedom, faith, vitality and all the other signs of life and progress.

The main elements for such personal and social training are incorporated in the Hajj. Going into ihram and leaving individual distinctions behind, abstaining from many carnal joys and desires, circumambulating around the symbol of monotheism and praying in the Place of Ibrahim the Idol-breaker and the Self-Sacrificing, the hurrying between the two hills, finding tranquility in Arafat among the great numbers of monotheists from every color and ethnic background to passing the night in prayer and supplication in al-Mash`ar al-Haram with a fondness for God in one's heart, devoting one’s heart and soul to God the Almighty in such a congested crowd, being present in Mina and stoning the satanic symbols, the meaningful concretization of sacrificing and feeding the poor and the wayfarer are all aimed at training, practicing and reminding us of it.

In this perfect ritual, sincerity, purity of heart and disentanglement from materialistic engagements, endeavor, resilience, intimacy and seclusion with God, unity, concordance, homogeneity, adorning the soul and heart, committing the heart to solidarity with the great body of the Muslim Ummah, humility before the Ultimate Truth, firmness against falsehood, soaring in the desire for the hereafter and the firm resolution to adorn the world are all interwoven and constantly practiced:

« وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ رَبَّنا آتِنا فِي الدُّنْيا حَسَنَةً وَ فِي الآْخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ قِنا عَذابَ النَّارِ ».

And among them there are those who say, “Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

This way, the Honored Kaaba and the Hajj rituals contribute to the resilience and the uprising of human societies and are filled with benefit and enjoyment for all mankind:

«جَعَلَ اللَّهُ الْكَعْبَةَ الْبَيْتَ الْحَرامَ قِياماً لِلنَّاس‏»
«ليَشْهَدُوا مَنافِعَ لَهُمْ وَ يَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْلُوماتٍ‏»

Allah has made the Kaaba, the Sacred House, a means of sustenance for mankind…

That they may witness the benefits for them, and mention Allah's Name during the known days.
Today, Muslims from all countries and races should appreciate the value of this great ritual more than before and benefit from it, for the horizon is brighter than ever in the eyes of the Muslim Ummah and the hope for reaching the goals Islam has envisaged for individuals and societies is greater than ever. If, in the last two centuries the Muslim Ummah got disintegrated and was defeated in the confrontation with the Western materialistic civilization and the atheist schools of thought of both the right and the left, today, in the 15th century of the Lunar Hegira, it is the economic and political theories of the West that are paralyzed and fading away. Today, as a result of the Muslims' reawakening and the retrieval of their identity and with the resurgence of monotheistic ideas and the logic of justice and divinity, a new dawn of prosperity and glory has begun for Muslims.

Those who, in the not-so-distant past, were singing the tune of despair and believed that not only Islam and Muslims but also the foundations of spirituality and religiosity had been lost in the invasion of the Western civilization, are now today witnessing the resurgence of Islam and the revival of the Holy Qur’an as well as the gradual debilitation and collapse of those invaders, confirming all this with their tongues and hearts.

I say with full confidence that this is only the beginning and the complete fulfillment of the divine promise of the victory of truth over falsehood, the reconstruction of the Ummah of the Qur’an and the new Islamic civilization are on the way:

«وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَ عَمِلُوا الصَّالِحاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَْرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَ لَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضى‏ لَهُمْ وَ لَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْناً يَعْبُدُونَنِي لا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئاً وَ مَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذلِكَ فَأُولئِكَ هُمُ الْفاسِقُونَ»

Allah has promised those of you who have faith and do righteous deeds that He will surely make them successors in the earth, just as He made those who were before them successors, and He will surely establish for them their religion which He has approved for them, and that He will surely change their state to security after their fear, while they worship Me, not ascribing any partners to Me. And whoever is ungrateful after that it is they who are the transgressors.

The first and foremost sign of this inescapable promise was the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the establishment of the glorious Islamic system which turned Iran into a strong fortress for the idea of Islamic rule and civilization. The birth of this miraculous phenomenon amidst the height of the materialism and Islamophobia of rightist and leftist politicians and thinkers, and then its resistance against political, military, economic and propaganda strikes coming from all directions, gave rise to the creation of new hope and passion in the hearts of Muslims. With the passage of time and by the grace of God the Almighty, the strength and capabilities of the Islamic Revolution have increased and the hope it created is now more deeply rooted than ever. Over the last thirty years, the Middle East and Muslim countries in Asia and Africa have been the arenas where this victorious struggle is taking place: Palestine and the Islamic Intifada and the emergence of a Muslim Palestinian government; Lebanon and the historic victory of Hizbollah and the Islamic resistance against the arrogant bloodthirsty Zionist regime; Iraq and the establishment of a Muslim and populist government on the ruins of the atheist regime and the dictator Saddam; Afghanistan and the humiliating defeat of the Communist occupiers and their puppet government; the defeat and failure of all the plots hatched by arrogant America to dominate the Middle East; the incurable problems and chaos inside the usurper Zionist regime; the prevalence of the Islam-seeking masses in all or most of the neighboring countries and especially among the youth and intellectuals; the amazing scientific and technological progress in Islamic Iran achieved under severe economic sanctions and embargoes; the defeat of warmongers in America in the political and economic arenas and Muslim minorities' regaining their true identity and dignity in most of the Western countries. These are all clear indications of the triumph and advancements of Islam in its struggle against its enemies in this century that is the 15th century of Lunar Hegira.

Brothers and sisters! These victories are all the fruits of jihad and sincerity. When the voice of God was heard from the lips of His servants, and the resoluteness and strength of the fighters of the true path were deployed and when the Muslims fulfilled their promise to God the Exalted and the Almighty fulfilled His promise in response, the path of history was changed:

« أَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُم‏» «إِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ وَ يُثَبِّتْ أَقْدامَكُمْ » «ً وَ لَيَنْصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَنْصُرُهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيز» «إِنَّا لَنَنْصُرُ رُسُلَنا وَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَياةِ الدُّنْيا وَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الأَْشْهادُ»

Fulfill My covenant that I may fulfill your covenant, and be in awe of Me alone.

If you help Allah, He will help you and make your feet steady.

Allah will surely help those who help Him. Indeed Allah is all-Strong, all-Mighty.

Indeed We shall help Our apostles and those who have faith in the life of the world and on the day when the witnesses rise up.

But this is still the beginning. Muslim nations still face treacherous roads ahead. One can never survive them unless one is equipped with the power of faith, sincerity, hope and jihad as well as insight and patience. This path cannot be taken with despair and pessimism, apathy and lack of spirit, impatience, lethargy and disbelief in the fulfillment of the divine promise.

The wounded enemy is now resorting to anything and will spare no effort to strike back. We need to be resourceful, wise and to take advantage of opportunities. This way all the efforts of the enemy will fail. In the last thirty years, the enemies, mostly the US and Zionism, have been utilizing all their capacities but have failed miserably. The same thing will happen in the future, too, inshallah.

The severity and intensity of the enemy's actions usually show just how weak and imprudent he is. Look at Palestine and especially Gaza. The cruel and ruthless acts of the enemy, which are unprecedented in the history of human atrocities, are indicative of his weakness in overcoming the firm resolve of men, women and children who, with their empty hands, are standing against the Occupant Regime and its supporter, the superpower called America; they have spurned its demand which is to reject the Hamas government. May God the Almighty’s blessings be showered upon this resolute and great nation. The people of Gaza and the Hamas government have given meaning to the following everlasting verses of the Holy Qur’an which says:

«وَ لَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَ الْجُوعِ وَ نَقْصٍ مِنَ الأَْمْوالِ وَ الأَْنْفُسِ وَ الثَّمَراتِ وَ بَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ *الَّذِينَ إِذا أَصابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَ إِنَّا إِلَيْهِ راجِعُونَ *أُولئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَواتٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَ رَحْمَةٌ وَ أُولئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ» و «لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِي أَمْوالِكُمْ وَ أَنْفُسِكُمْ وَ لَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا أَذىً كَثِيراً وَ إِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَ تَتَّقُوا فَإِنَّ ذلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الأُْمُورِ».

We will surely test you with a measure of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits; and give good news to the patient.

Those who, when an affliction visits them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and to Him do we indeed return."

It is they who receive the blessings of their Lord and His mercy, and it is they who are the rightly guided.

You will surely be tested in your possessions and your souls, and you will surely hear from those who were given the Book before you and from the polytheists much affront; but if you are patient and God wary, that is indeed the steadiest of courses.

Truth will emerge triumphant in its battle with falsehood and it is the oppressed and steadfast nation of Palestine that will ultimately be victorious over the enemy.

«وَ كانَ اللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزاً »

And Allah is all-Strong, all-Mighty.

Even today, the enemy has failed to break the resistance of the Palestinians. The claims of freedom and democracy and the slogans of human rights have turned out to be nothing but lies. This has greatly disgraced the US and most European regimes; disgraces from which they will not be able to recover soon. The infamous Zionist regime is more notorious than before and some Arab regimes have lost their honor and reputation which they did not have in this test.

وَ سَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنْقَلَبٍ يَنْقَلِبُونَ

"The school's political claims and false mottos of human rights and democracy were uncovered in Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, Iraq invasion, Afghanistan invasion and the bombardment of different areas. Today the false bubble of dominance of money has broken in the Western world and their cries have risen to the sky," Ayatollah Khamenei said of the Western Democracy.

Ayatollah Khamenei regarded the current problems of the Western world as an indicator of the economic claims of the West's Liberal Democracy.

He referred to the Western analysts' confession to inefficiency of Liberal Democracy's economic methods, saying: "They themselves say that the era of America's absolute dominance has come to an end."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarded these issues as great and deserving contemplation.

Pointing to national scientific advances in recent years, he added "The diverting idea inculcates that the current scientific progress is useless but the active Muslim youths of Iran could achieve a scientific level even higher than the global level."

Answering a question on where to gain the late Imam Khomeini's viewpoints, Ayatollah Khamenei said," You should infer the late Imam's thought through studying his words and ideas."

Ayatollah Khamenei urged for forming special working groups to study and compile the late Imam's thoughts.

His Eminence also stressed that implementing laws and minimum violation of them is another priority. He referred to the issue of prisons and said: "Pursuing the policy of reducing the amount of imprisonment is a positive measure, but the existence of prisons is a reality. And we must try to turn prisons into institutes for promoting good deeds."

Ayatollah Khamenei described the judiciary branch as logical, advanced, and strong, further adding: "Using all the legal potentialities of this branch, especially the Ministry of Justice, is one of the priorities."

The IR Leader advised the three branches of government to interact to solve their differences, adding, "If differences rise over scope of authority, it can be solved through interaction, referring to the Constitution and using standpoints of elites."

Ayatollah Khamenei warned the representatives to avoid being influenced by unpopular power folds inside the society and preserve their independence in decision-making.

The IR Leader termed the Constitutional supervision of the parliament as very important, adding, "The representatives should be vigilant to keep the supervision from being transformed into conflict with other branches of power."

Contrasting Welayah and its equivalences in the current international politics (government, monarchy), Ayatollah Khamenei said that Welayah stood for a combination of sovereignty and intimacy.

"The coinage connotes that the Islamic System pursues sovereignty under Islamic beliefs. It points to Imam's foresight and sedulity to demark the Islamic System's boundaries with other political systems," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"Political and ideological boundaries function in the same manner as geographical boundaries," the IR Leader noted.

"Today national confidence is more essential than ever. The nation, especially the university students, the elites and the authorities, must identify and foresee the new tactics of the aliens to undermine Iran and thwart their plots," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei then highlighted the significance of national confidence, saying, "Given confidence is absent from a nation it would remain stuck in backwardness forever, gazing at others for help."

"The existence of national confidence however would produce the motivation in the mind of elites to try to materialize national needs followed by such achievements that cross-produce other achievements," Ayatollah Khamenei compared, noting that the nation has witnessed the reality in its Sacred Defense (1980-88) against the invading Saddam Hussein forces as well as in other national tests.

Ayatollah Khamenei outlined the enemy tactics to undercut national confidence of the Iranian people as 'provocation of pessimism and frustration,' 'deviation of talents' and 'threats of a military attack.'

"The aliens try to frustrate people, especially the youths by denying the existing progress, by accentuating the distance between the Iranian nation and the advanced nations and by picturing a bleak prospect. "Given that one day the present providers of fuel to nuclear plant deny the product from Iran on any ground or put stiff conditions on its provision, then would not the nation have to surrender to them?" Ayatollah Khamenei asked.

Recalling the nationwide delight at the recent great nuclear accomplishments, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the achievements would help boost national confidence despite some people who challenge the system and the administration over those achievements and wontedly or unwontedly help undermine national confidence.

However, we have never said that the relations will remain severed forever. Concerning the debilitative outcomes of a resumption of relations with America, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "For one thing, the relation would not reduce the size of America's peril because it attacked Iraq while it had political relations with the country. "For these reasons, unlike the claims of some peddling people, relations with America has no benefit for the Iranian nation for now. Undoubtedly, the day the relations with America prove beneficial for the Iranian nation I will be the first one to approve of that," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

"Some people accuse us of provocation of America's hostility. However, the country in fact keeps enmity towards the principles of the Iranian nation and its hostility has been there since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution," the IR Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei then warned that the illogical and persisting criticism against any measures taken by the country's management, especially the executive power would undermine people's hope and liveliness, adding that the serving administration like the other past administrations has shortcomings which must be brought to them in a sincere manner.

Ayatollah Khamenei thanked President Ahmadinejad Administration for their initiative to stage regular provincial visits to resolve the people's problems firsthand, urging the press and media to avoid carping in this regard.

In the same regard, Ayatollah Khamenei described media rabble rousing as one of the tactics of the western press and media to undermine the Iranians' national confidence.

Ayatollah Khamenei denounced western media's claims about human rights situation in Iran, saying, "Those whose Guantanamo prison and Abu Ghuraib torture unit would make any noble human ashamed are accusing Iran and any other opponent government of human rights violation."

Ayatollah Khamenei in the same sphere named the propaganda allegations of lack of democracy in Iran as another enemy tactic to undermine the Iranian nation's national confidence.

"The Iranian nation almost once a year has taken part in an election in an enthusiastic climate to choose any candidates it wishes for from among different contesting parties. Does democracy mean otherwise in other countries?"

"Appointment of Imam by the Noblest Messenger of Allah and in fact by the Exalted Allah showed that from the standpoint view of Islam the governemnt has the meaning of Imamat and it does not limit to management of the ordinary life."

Ayatollah Khamenei described the meaning of the Imamt as administrating this and the next world of the nations and perfection of the humans' spirits and added that 'this deep and basic approach distinguishes reign in the Islam from other governemnts and Shia on the basis of this bright logic could prove its righteousness during the history.'

"Paying attention to Imam Ali's (AS) unique characteristics is another aspect of the Ghadir event," the IR Leader said adding that "In the Ghadir event a person should have appointed to the Imamat who is the origin of all virtues and the divine evaluations showed that Imam Ali (AS) had these great virtues."

"We should follow the model of Imam Ali's (AS) government and try steadily to establish a really Alavi society."

"Justice, piety, monotheism, kindness to all people and humans, standing against deviation for the divine path were the characteristics of Imam Ali's (AS) government," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that 'maintaning unity and harmony among Muslims is another lesson from Ghadir event.'

"Imam Ali (AS) was appointed by the Noblest Messenger of Allah but when he saw that Islam was in danger he quit his right for the sake of Islam and Muslims' unity. He even cooperated with someone who had not any right for governing the Islamic society."

He added that "the Iranian nation enjoys the strongest logic, the logic of Imamt and Velayat and does not seek to prove itself through denying others. By following Imam Ali (AS), the Iranian nation is the flag-bearer of the Islamic unity and harmony.

Pointing to the necessity of vigilance against the enemies' complicated moves against the Islamic Ummah, the IR Leader said that the great lesson of Ghadir fighting difference and discord and for implementing it, the Islamic sects should avoid insulting each other's beliefs and foil the Imperialism's plot for sowing discord among Shia and Sunni."

In the Name of God the Beneficent the Merciful

Praise be unto God, the Lord of all the world and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his pure Household and his companions

Greetings to the pilgrims of the House of God, the guests of the Almighty's abode and those who have answered His Divine call… and hail to hearts freshened by the remembrance of God and opened to His unsparing blessings and bounties. In these elixir-like days, nights and hours, many a man who gratefully consigned themselves to the Divine attraction, illuminated their hearts through penitence and repentance and cleansed themselves of the darkness of sin and idolatry in the waves of Divine mercifulness coming constantly one after another in this holy land. May God's peace be upon these hearts and these virtuous and self-purified people.
It would be most appropriate if all my brothers and sisters did think deeply over such a blessing and avail themselves of this great opportunity. They should not allow the worldly preoccupations which are our habitual engagements to occupy their hearts as usual. In this atmosphere of monotheism and unadulterated divinity, they should let their craving hearts soar and collect the necessary provisions to persevere on the path of God and the right path by the remembrance of God, penitence and supplication, a resolute will of truthfulness, good thinking and rectitude and seeking the help of God.
Here is the center of true and pure monotheism. Here is the place where Abraham (A.S), The Friend of God, left as a memorial for all the true believers of the world throughout history a symbol of monotheism which is the subjugation of one's carnal desires and complete submission before the Divine command by bringing his beloved to the altar. Here is the place where Muhammad Mustafa (S.A) raised the flag of monotheism against the wishes of the arrogant and bullying elements and the wealthy of his time and deemed aversion to Taghoot along with belief in God as the condition for salvation: "Therefore whoever forsakes Taghoot and does believe in Allah, he shall grasp a most secure handle that never breaks" (2-256)
Hajj is the opportunity to review and revisit these great lessons. Disavowal from the infidels and aversion to idols and idolaters is the prevailing spirit of the believers' Hajj. Each and every corner of Hajj is a manifestation of devoting one's heart to God, striving in His name and path, disavowing from Satan, stoning and rejecting and standing against him. Each and every corner of Hajj is the embodiment of unity and solidarity among the believers where natural and contractual differences fade away and the significance of the true and monotheistic unity and brotherhood is upheld.
These are the lessons that we, the Muslims, from all parts of the world, have to learn; lessons on which bases we have to plan our lives and futures.
The Holy Koran refers to the strong stand against the enemies, compassion and kindness among the believers as well as courtesy and obedience to God as the three indications of an Islamic society.
"Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and his followers should be solid of heart against the disbelievers, but most compassionate amongst themselves; you see them bowing down, prostrating, imploring Grace from God" (48-29)
These are the three basic pillars necessary for the establishment of the glorious and dignified body of the Muslim Ummah.
Bearing in mind this fact, all the Muslim people can appropriately identify the ailments of the present Muslim world.
Today, the treacherous enemies of the Muslim Ummah are the organizers of the hegemonic centers and expansionist and aggressive powers which consider the Islamic awakening as a great threat to their illegitimate interests and their oppressive domination over the Muslim world. All the Muslim nations led by their political and religious authorities, intellectuals and national leaders need to form a united Islamic front against this invading enemy with full strength. They need to muster all the elements of power within themselves and properly strengthen the Muslim Ummah. Knowledge and insight, resourcefulness and vigilance, responsibility and commitment, confidence and hope in Divine promises, refraining from petty and trivial wants in order to attain the consent of God and abiding by the duties… are all the basic elements contributing to the sovereignty of the Islamic Ummah leading it to dignity, independence and material and spiritual progress and preventing the enemies from the attainment of their unlawful wishes.
Compassion among the believers is the second pillar and another indication for the desired status of the Muslim Ummah. Disunity and conflict among the parts of the Muslim Ummah are dangerous diseases which must be treated with all might. Our enemies have long been making great efforts in this area. Today, those who have become terrified due to the Islamic awakening have intensified their efforts. All that the caring people are saying is that the differences must not turn into conflicts and that plurality should not lead to belligerence.
The Iranian nation has named this year as the year of Islamic solidarity. This naming was used due to the awareness of the intensified plots hatched in order to sow the seeds of discord among our brothers. These plots proved to be effective in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and some people in these Islamic countries were instigated to oppose some of their own countrymen and to spill their blood. The traces of this conspiracy were visible in all these bitter and tragic incidents and people with keen sights noticed the hands of the enemy in them.
The command of "being compassionate amongst themselves" in the Holy Koran is tantamount to the extirpation of such pugnacities. In these glorious days and during the various rituals of Hajj, one may see Muslims from all over the world and from various faiths going around one single house, praying in the direction of one Qibla, stoning in unison the symbol of the rejected Satan, acting in the same way to sacrifice the carnal desires and passions and, in unison, practicing supplication during the Arafat and Mashar gathering places. The same closeness and togetherness is also visible among all the Islamic faiths in terms of the most basic religious percepts, regulations and beliefs. Therefore, why should the prejudices and prejudgments be allowed to kindle fire among them and why should the treacherous hands of enemies be allowed to stoke this ravaging fire?
Today there are some who, under false pretexts and due to their narrow-mindedness and lack of prudence, consider a great number of Muslims as infidels and even consider spilling their blood as lawful. Whether they are aware of it or not, they are in the servitude of idolatry, unbelief and arrogance. Many a person who used the term of infidelity for the reverence of the holy shrines of Muhammad the Great Prophet of Islam (S.A), the Pious and the Imams (PBUH) which is actually honoring religion and religiousness, became the servants of infields and oppressors and collaborated with them in attaining their wicked goals.
The real religious figures and scholars, committed intellectuals and sincere authorities must combat such perilous phenomena.
Today, Islamic unity and solidarity are definite religious duties which may be materialized and practiced through cooperation among the wise and caring people.
Formation of a fortified front against the Arrogant powers on one hand and compassion and convergence on the other are the two pillars of dignity. Accompanied by the third pillar which is comprised of the courtesy and obedience to God, these pillars enable the Muslim Ummah to tread steadfastly on the same path which led to the pinnacle of glory and dignity for Muslims during the very outset of Islam. Consequently, the Muslim Ummah will be saved from the humiliating backwardness which has been imposed on it in recent centuries. The precursor of this great move has emerged and the awakening waves are more or less on the move in the Muslim world. The media and propaganda belonging to the enemies try to attribute any freedom and justice seeking movement in any part of the world to Iran or Shi‘ism. They try to hold Iran, which was the first flagbearer of the victory of the Islamic awakening, responsible for the blows dealt to them by the zealots in the Muslim countries in the areas of politics or culture. The peerless epic of Hizbollah created in the 33-Day War, the prudent ressitance of the Iraqi nation which led to the formation of a parliament and a government not favored by the occupiers, the astonishing patience and perseverance of the legal government of Palestine and its self-sacrificing people and many other signs of the revival of Islam in Muslim countries are all accused of being linked to Iranism or Shi‘ism in order to impede the unanimous support of the Muslim world. However, such a ruse will not be able to withstand the Divine tradition which heralds the victory for the strugglers in the cause of God and the victory-bearers of the religion of God. The future belongs to the Muslim Ummah and each and every one of us may contribute to the nearness of that future proportionate to the amount of responsibility or capability we have.
Hajj rituals are a great opportunity for you fortunate Hajjis to prepare yourselves for this cause more than before.
I hope the Divine aid and the blessing of Hazrat Al-Mahdi, May God hasten His arrival, will be with you in this great aim.

Islamic law capable of attending to modern day demands(2007/12/05)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told a convention of senior judicial authorities of the Islamic countries in Tehran Wednesday that the statute of Islam can capably attend to the modern day human expectations, especially the demand for justice.

Ayatollah Khamenei observed that the solution to the Muslim world problems lies in self-confidence and reliance on God, urging the Islamic judicial bodies to make a return to the Divine judicial law and renovate the sublime foundation of Islamic jurisprudence.

The IR Leader viewed Tehran conference of Islamic judicial authorities as conducive to further exchange of views among the Muslim scholars and Alims (scholars of Islamic studies).

"The Islamic Umma (community) must grab every opportunity at hand to enhance internal bonds and promote good intention until the aspirations of the world of Islam are realized," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.

The Islamic Revolution Leader regarded the Islamic law as one of the most developed law systems in the present day world.

Ayatollah Khamenei regretted that the Western bloc was trying to belittle the Islamic law as being unable to cater to the modern day demands and that the judicial bodies of the Islamic countries had remained impressed by the Western juridical system unlike being in command of the eminent Islamic statute.

Ayatollah Khamenei believed that the absence of justice, security and fraternity and the unfettered rule of superpowers are the fruits of Western cultural dominance over the world.

"Today the world has a thirst for justice and security," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"Muslims are treated with humiliation and discrimination in the so-perceived civilized countries of the west which profess to enjoy freedom of thought. In the Islamic countries, including Iran, however, the religious minorities are living a tranquil life and are free to observe their religious practices," Ayatollah Khamenei distinguished.

The Islamic Revolution Leader then underlined that the Western culture and civilization could not secure justice and security for human being whereas the high-status Islamic laws could secure the acute demands of humanity, including justice.

Ayatollah Khamenei identified the Western domineering attitude, the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people and the silence of the western-civilization-gripped world as among the existing discriminations in the world.

"In these conditions, the Muslims must confidently and unanimously take measures through reliance on God. The God too has pledged Its Assistance whenever an idea is aptly dealt with," Ayatollah Khamenei recommended.

The IR Leader at the end of his remarks urged the Muslim judicial authorities to do follow-ups for the decisions they made in Tehran conference.

Early in the meeting and prior to the IR Leader remarks, the IRI Judiciary Chief, Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroudi delivered a report to the audience on the conference agenda and decisions.

The Judiciary Chief said that the Articles of Association of the union of Islamic countries judicial bodies would be drawn up in Tehran conference secretariat to be presented for approval to the next edition of the conference set for Saudi Arabia.

Faculties of Islamic studies must recondition(2007/11/29)

Iranian Alims (scholars of Islamic studies) held a 4-hour panel discussion with the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Thursday, exchanging views on different scientific and educational matters as well as the Islamic preaching concerns.

The Alims, including rectors, researchers and students were accredited to the schools of Islamic studies of the Qom, Mashhad and Esfehan provinces.

Ayatollah Khamenei placed a premium on planning for future and in this concern highlighted the position of the Supreme Council of the Qom school of Islamic studies and its prominent scholars and Marjayia.

"The essentiality of planning for the future will double as one considers the significant duties the Alims bear regarding the people's religious affairs," Ayatolah Khamenei noted.

Ayatollah Khamenei believed that an overhaul of the educational system was inevitable in the schools of Islamic studies across the country, adding that any shunning of the overhaul would prove ruinous or lead to isolation. The IR Leader urged the Alims to embrace and steer the overhaul idea.

The Islamic Revolution Leader identified training methods, research methods and curricular design as the educational fields in the Islamic studies schools which need an overhaul, adding that the schools must develop graduation degrees of their own.

"All these changes are necessary to recondition the educational system. However they must be administered so that the faculties are steered clear of such shortfalls as excessive chasing of academic achievements or plunge of knowledge levels among the students," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that an effective management is essential to run the overhaul scheme and in this he called for some changes in the management of the schools, noting that the prime target of the change would be the policy of the schools.

"The Supreme Council of Howzeh Elmiyeh (the Qom school of the Islamic studies) must undertake the job of policy making more than ever and in so doing it must share the views of the existing strong expert body within the schools to outline the prospects with an eye on the pace of the developments and scientific advances in the world," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei attached high significance to the administrative body of the educational centers, saying that the schools need to have a planning council with a command of modern-day scientific and planning methods.

The IR Leader also placed a premium on free-thought panels where students and researchers could debate their scientific opinions, noting that the history proves the Islamic educational centers have always been a center of free thought.

"Free-thought panels need to become a norm in the Islamic studies schools. The ground must be provided to accommodate different arguments," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.

The IR Leader also called for the establishment of academic boards on various disciplines.

Concerning preaching affairs, Ayatollah Khamenei urged for a scheme to review the existing contents and resources, suggesting that a center be established to train the students for the promotion of Islam in an international scope.

Freedom-lovers stand by Palestinian people(2007/11/27)

The Islamic Revolution Leader, Ayatollah sayed Ali Khamenei in a Tuesday meeting with the visiting Sri Lankan President, Mahinda Rajapaksa and his accompanying delegation pointed to the history of the two countries' relations and stressed on necessity for expansion of bilateral economic, political and cultural ties.

"The Asia continent has a proper capacity for development of cooperation among its countries to which less attention was paid. It is necessary for the regional states to take effective steps in this regard," the Islamic Revolution Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the policy of the Sri Lankan active government in helping the country's Muslims, adding that "Fortunately, the Sri Lankan statemen have good behaviour towards the Muslims in the country and we appreciate this approach."

Pointing to the Sri lankan government's positive move in supporting the Palestinian people, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that "the supporters of Zionists have adopted many measures to trample on the rights of the Palestinian people and holding Annapolis confab is an example of that but the world's pure consciences and freedom-lovers stand by the Palestinian people and support them."

During the meeting, also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Sri Lankan president, Mahinda Rajapaksa described the two sides' negotiations and agreements as successful.

"Iran and Sri Lanka enjoy ancient relations and the two countries have designed several projects and implemented them until now," Sri Lankan President said.

Pointing to terrorism as a problem of his country in recent years, Rajapaksa added that "Terrorists seek to divide the country into two parts but we succeded in cleaning them up and now we endeavor to bring progress to different paets of the country.

The Sri Lankan President pointed out that his country has established a committe to voice solidarity with the Palestinian nation, adding that "We condemn the Zionist agressions and support formation of independent Palestinian government.

Auspicious Basij will live for ever(2007/11/26)

Over 8 million members of the Iranian Basij Organization, accredited to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) staged a nationwide drill Monday in preparation against any threat from outside.

The centerpiece of the national drill came in the capital Tehran where a special official event was held in the presence of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian national anthem was played out simultaneously in 400 cities across Iran where Basij forces were standing in lines before launching their drill.

In Tehran, the anthem was played as the Islamic Revolution Leader arrived in the drill ground, kilometers outside the Capital Tehran.

Ayatollah Khamenei then walked to the Martyrs Memorial put up in the premises of the drill ground to pay homage and recite the first chapter of the Holy Koran in their commemoration.

The IR Leader then prayed for the souls of the martyrs of the faithful Iranian nation whose valiant struggle against the invading forces of Saddam Hussein decades ago (1980-88) carved an epic in the Iranian history.

The Commander-in-Chief then inspected a guard of honor along a route one-kilometer-long on whose side the platoons of the Basij forces were standing in line.

Ayatollah Khamenei then took the viewing stand and delivered a speech which was broadcast live on the national radio and TV.

Ayatollah Khamenei appreciated the entity of Basij as a Divine incarnation the same way as the Islamic Revolution was.

"The Basij carries the same features as the auspicious revolution of the Iranian nation.
